Writing a profile people reply to

What to say about yourself, what to leave out, and how to sound like a person rather than an advert.

A profile is a short introduction, not a CV. Say where you are, what you want, and one or two things you actually do. People reply to a specific person more often than to a list of adjectives.

Use a recent photo of your face. Write in the first person. Mention the kind of meeting you are hoping for, whether that is something steady or something lighter, so nobody has to guess.

Leave out your phone number, your workplace, and your children's names. You can share those later, with someone you have already spoken to on Only Dating.
