Dating in your seventies

How to start again in your seventies, with a current photo and a plan that fits the day you have.

Say that you are in your seventies. People search for this decade because they want a peer. A profile that uses a photo from your fifties spends the first meeting on a correction. Put the decade in the first lines and use a photo from this year.

Write the life you have. A house you do not want to leave, grandchildren, a health appointment in the week, and friendships you already value are ordinary. "I would like someone to share a lunch with, and I am in my seventies" is a good sentence. You do not need to sound as if you are still in your sixties. Dating in your sixties is that earlier decade, if it is yours.

A coffee, a walk, or a lunch is easier to accept than a late night. Say whether you drive, and pick a public place that is simple to reach. The first meeting should be easy to leave. Talk on Only Dating first, then a short video call, then meet. If someone falls for you immediately and then cannot meet, stop. The romance-scam guide describes that pattern, and it is aimed at people who are polite and settled.

Leave your address, your surname, and the names of your grandchildren off the profile. If you were widowed, that guide is the longer page. If it was a divorce, that one is the other. Only Dating is free to join and free to message. We will never ask you for a fee.
