Say that you are a woman looking for a woman. The join form has that choice, under I am. Choose it, and say it again in a sentence, because a photo does not always tell people. "I am a woman in Bristol, looking to meet a woman" is a complete opening.
On the profile, sexuality has a choice called Homosexual. Select it if that is the word that fits. You can still write lesbian in your own sentence. Lesbian is a complete description. You do not have to add a reason, a history, or a more explicit picture to make it count. Women looking for women is the practical list of what else belongs on the page. If you also want to meet men, that is bisexual dating, and the profile should say Bi.
Use a recent photo of your face. Leave your surname, your workplace, and anyone else's name off the profile. The careful order is the same as for anyone else: a few messages, a video call, then a public place. Meeting someone safely is that plan. You do not owe a stranger a different standard because you are both women.
